# Stock Notifications

> How to subscribe to a notification for a plan that is currently out of stock.

## Overview

When a plan is sold out, you can ask us to notify you as soon as it is back in stock. Notifications are handled through a support ticket, so you do not need to keep checking our website. When the plan is restocked, we reply to that ticket.

Notifications are per plan and per location. Subscribing to Standard XS in Los Angeles does not notify you about Standard XS in Miami, or about Standard S in Los Angeles.

For why plans go out of stock in the first place, see [Stock Availability](/information/stock).

## Subscribing

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the cloud page">
    Go to [advinservers.com/cloud](https://advinservers.com/cloud) and wait for the current stock to load.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the product and location">
    Choose the product line that you want, such as KVM Standard VPS or KVM Premium VPS, then choose the location that you want the server in. Stock is listed separately for each location.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Get Notified">
    Find the plan that you want. Plans that are sold out show a **Get Notified** button in place of the Purchase button. Clicking it opens our client area with a support ticket already filled in for that specific plan and location.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the ticket">
    Submit the ticket without editing the subject line. If you are logged into the [client area](https://clients.advinservers.com), your details are filled in for you. If you are not logged in, enter your name and email address on the form first.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Once the ticket is submitted, you are subscribed. There is nothing else to do and no separate confirmation step.

<Warning>
  Do not change the subject line of the ticket. It contains the product identifier that we use to match your request to the plan you want, and edits to it can mean that you are not notified when that plan returns.
</Warning>

## Subscribing To More Than One Plan

If you would be happy with any one of several plans, subscribe to each of them separately. Click **Get Notified** on each plan that you are interested in and submit a ticket for each one. There is no limit on how many you can subscribe to, and doing so does not affect your position when the stock is released.

The same applies to locations. If you only need the server to be in the United States and do not mind which site, subscribe to the plan in each United States location that offers it.

## When Stock Returns

When the plan is restocked, we reply to your ticket to let you know. From that point the plan is orderable in the normal way from our website.

<Danger>
  A notification is not a reservation. Stock is released publicly at the same time as we notify subscribers, and popular plans can sell out again quickly. Being notified does not hold a server for you, and it does not place you in a queue.
</Danger>

Because of this, order as soon as you can after being notified, and pay the invoice promptly. Capacity is allocated when the invoice is paid, so an unpaid order does not hold stock for you.

## Managing Your Notifications

Your notification tickets appear under **Support → My Support Tickets** in the [client area](https://clients.advinservers.com) if you submitted them while logged in. To stop receiving a notification, close the ticket. To subscribe again later, click **Get Notified** on the plan again.

If you submitted the ticket as a guest, use the ticket link that was emailed to you when it was created.

## Frequently Asked Questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do I need an account to subscribe?">
    No. You can submit the notification ticket as a guest by entering your name and email address. We do recommend creating an account beforehand, since you will need one to order once the plan is back in stock.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How long will I be waiting?">
    We cannot give a timeframe. Restocks depend on hardware deliveries and datacenter work, so we notify you when the stock is live rather than estimate a date.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will you reply to my ticket before then?">
    Usually not. Notification tickets stay open until the plan is restocked, so no reply does not mean that your request was missed. Please do not reply to the ticket to ask for an update, as this does not make the stock arrive sooner.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I get notified for a plan that shows Coming Soon?">
    No. Coming Soon means the plan has not launched in that location yet, and notifications are only available for plans that are live but sold out.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I be notified about an upgrade instead of a new order?">
    The notification covers the plan itself, so it also tells you when the capacity needed for an upgrade to that plan exists. See our [Upgrading a VPS](/guides/upgrades) guide for how upgrades are processed.
